Halcyon Zero was to be an action RPG, playing as heroes throughout history brought to a singular moment in time where chaos threatens to destabilize creation. Players would have created their own maps, sharing them with one another, making their own campaigns, stories, and game modes.
Halcyon Zero was being built on the Godot Engine, and I was brought in to both consult and help with smaller, contractual tasks thanks to my experience with the engine teaching it as part of GDQuest. However, as time went on, I made myself more indispensable and I was eventually brought on full time to work on the project as we prepared it for a closed public access.
I took on large parts of the project, from gameplay systems and event control, the transition from the previous 2D version of the game into the 3D version it became, as well as tooling for editors and designers to create maps and character logic, as well as data storage.
